Betting on Ice Hockey 101

There are 3 basic types of bets in Ice Hockey. These bets are Moneyline, Puck Line and Total Goals O/U.

Money Line 1 2

Example
St Louis Blues: 2.2
Colorado Avalanche: 1.71

In this example, Colorado Avalanche is the favorite while St Louis Blues is the underdog. A $100 bet on Colorado Avalanche will win $71. While a $100 bet on St Louis Blues will win $120.

Any period of overtime is included in the final result to determine winning team, unless specified otherwise. If OT/shoot out is not included and the result is draw, bets on both teams will be refunded.

Puck Line

Example
Boston Bruins +1.5: 1.53
Buffalo Sabres -1.5: 2.50

A puck line bet is a wager on a team to win the game with handicaps applied. In this example, if Buffalo Sabres win by 2 goals or more, a bet of $100 wins $150.00. If Boston Bruins win the game, or lose by only one goal, a bet of $100 will win $53

Total Goals O/U

Example
Over 5.5: 1.83
Under 5.5: 2.00

The game total is the combined total goals for both teams at the end of the match. Any period of overtime is included in the final result to determine the total score, unless specified otherwise. Shootouts count for 1 goal only in favour of the winning team.
